ZOOMLION ALL TERRAIN CRANE

QAY220 all terrain crane, which integrates many years’ experience in designing and manufacturing mobile cranes with internationally advanced technology, is a fine-performance and high-reliability product produced to meet the market demands. Zoomlion New Rough Terrain Crane

The new range of Rough Terrain cranes has to be by far the most exciting new range that has come out of Zoomlion recently. This market segment has in the past being dominated by the Japanese and American brands and now the Chinese have entered this market.

The Japanese brands being Tadano Kato and Kobelco with only Tadano being exported new from Japan. The American RT’s being Grove and Terrex in real terms have being the newer entrants into Southern Africa market and have being extremely successful due to shorter delivery lead time and competitive prices.

The rough Terrain market in Southern Africa has always seen a very large percentage of new cranes imported into South Africa and therefore as a new entrant that can supply a high quality product at the lowest price in the market, I believe will have a similar success as the Truck cranes did as they took up as much as 25% of the entire crane industry sales.

The Zoomlion American agent has just placed an order for 40 units and the first shipment of RT cranes is already on the way to America. The range at present is 55 ton with 35 ton, 75 ton and at a later stage 25 ton and 100 ton will be launched for international sales shortly.

ANE to date has being highly successful in the sale of Rough Terrain Cranes but these have being used Kobelco units from Japan, as Kobelco Japan do not export new cranes. ANE will therefore now import and sell new Zoomlion RT cranes.

Botasia, a Chinese construction company, recently took delivery of a new QY20H 20 TON mobile crane. The construction demand in Botswana is extremely high and Botasia who have had Zoomlion cranes in China were happy to extend the fleet with another Zoomlion crane.

Chinese Delegation Visit South Africa

ANE Equipment Rental & Sales recently had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of HUNAN Province Government Officials and ZOOMLION Senior Management in Durban.

A meeting was arranged at the Hilton Hotel, Durban with members of the Chinese Delegation together with members of the MEC’s Office (KZN), Trade & Industry KZN and Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

An afternoon of positive discussions was had with strong links made for future developments between the two countries provinces. The Hunan province wishes to encourage co operation between Zoomlion and ANE to develop in South Africa and will be looking at opportunities of funding projects in South Africa for mutual benefit.

Once all formalities and business discussions were over, dinner was enjoyed by all in the evening.

The next morning the Delegation went on to visit Cape Town and Sun City and thereafter moved North to visit various other African countries.

Zoomlion Arrive In SA

April month has being filled with the staff from Zoomlion China arriving in South Africa.
They are busy finding residential place to stay and offices to work from. It would appear that they have found office space in Sandton and have decided to use ANE JHB premises for the new spare parts warehouse; they have requested that we build a separate parts warehouse for them.

This parts warehouse we plan to have ready for when the shipment of spare parts arrives in SA.
The team have being out visiting some existing clients and will be visiting every Zoomlion client in SA to introduce themselves and to inform you of the new products lines coming into SA from Zoomlion Group.

ZOOMLION CHINA SETS UP SOUTH AFRICA BRANCH COMPANY
Zoomlion have some exciting news for the Southern African market. In March 2010 a team of Zoomlion specialists will be supporting ANE in South Africa. The Chinese delegation representing Zoomlion in South Africa are General Manager, Mr Felix He, Admin Manager, Ms Carolyn Chen, Sales Manager, Mr Harry Han, Mobile Crane Technical Support, Mr Xin Zhang (Buster) and a new Technician for Crawler Crane Technical Support.

Zoomlion Branch Company will set up an office base in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their permanent presence in South Africa proves their commitment to the current and future clientele and to offer ANE, as the Agent, all the support that it requires on the Zoomlion product. Their presence in Southern Africa will also assist in building the Zoomlion brand name to increase the overall market share of the Zoomlion products in Southern Africa market.

ZOOMLION FINANCE ENTERS SA
Zoomlion Finance division will enter the SA market and will provide finance to clients who wish to purchase Zoomlion products from ANE. The division will be headed up by Peter, who has recently spent 6 months in Nigeria for Zoomlion Finance. In 2008 Zoomlion Finance registered it's first off shore finance division in Australia and the success of the finance division has been overwhelming as the finance is direct with Zoomlion Head office and has no links with South African banks. Peter will be in SA at the end of March to register the business.

ZOOMLION CONCRETE PUMPS
Zoomlion Concrete Pumps will enter the SA market. Zoomlion purchased the leading Concrete Pump Company CIFA in Italy in 2009 and positioned Zoomlion as the number one Concrete Pump manufacturer in the world ahead of Putmeitzer. Zoomlion Concrete range is Zoomlion ’s largest division and has a dominance of the market due to the very high quality build standards. Domingo will also be based in SA to set up the new division of Concrete machinery that has been now included into ANE range of equipment. This new division will be based out of ANE JHB premises that will now become the new home for Zoomlion Products and only Zoomlion products will be serviced and be on display at these new premises.

ZOOMLION SPARE PARTS WAREHOUSE IN SOUTH AFRICA
Zoomlion will import and hold spare parts for all its products sold into the Southern African market. These parts will be imported and a Zoomlion Parts Warehouse will be formed, reducing delays in ordering and shipping times and allowing ANE a shorter response time to their clients. A comprehensive list of parts has already being identified and these parts are being dispatched to SA shortly.

Zoomlion Star Awards Ceremony

Mark Bates attended the ZOOMLION Star awards ceremony at ZOOMLION Changsha, China. The ceremony was presented to 2500 key ZOOMLION staff members and select agents from around the world. The ceremony was a great event with many cultural dance display's and performances, and even had a fun section whereby the agents had a tug of war competition; needless to say Mark was on the winning side. The ZOOMLION factory had a very good 2009 with a turnover growth of 25% up on 2008. The Research and Development (R&D) department has designed 4 new products, one being a new rough terrain crane of 55 ton capacity. The first two units for export have left for America in February 2010. The Container handler reach stacker is also a new and exciting product added to the range.

Introducing the QY25V...

The QY25V comes in 2 models, namely the QY25V432 and QY25V532. One of the more distinctive differences between the two machines is the boom length. The “QY25V432” has a boom length of 33.3m plus a jib of 8m. The “QY25V532” has a boom length of 39m plus a jib of 8m.

The machine has a super lifting capacity, especially the lifting capacity of medium and full length boom, which has been greatly improved.

The drivers cab is spacious with a wide vision. It has an adjustable clamping seat, UV-cut reinforced curtain, radio and sound insulation.

The operators cab has sound insulation, chassis engine controls, high quality LCD monitor and shockproof pressure gauge with the function of working range limit and pressure detection.

Rob Cook's Visit To Zoomlion, China

After almost 20 hours of traveling and the airline losing our luggage, Martin Muller the Cosira Group workshop manager and I arrived in Changsha, China. We quickly discovered that in this small city of 5 million people, everything was fast paced.

Once the weekend was over and we had clean clothes to wear, the Zoomlion crawler crane division welcomed all the trainees with an opening ceremony and the day to day plan of what was going to be covered on the QUY series, and when we would be at the factory. The Zoomlion training classes for Rexroth hydraulics, the Cummins engine, the PTC computer system, and the hours spent on the electrics were very informative. This was mainly due to the organization of the Zoomlion training department as well as interactive software that was easily understood by all. Upon arriving at the Zoomlion crawler crane factory, I was personally amazed at the size of the Zoomlion Industrial Park which did not only consist of the crawler division. We were again welcomed by the Zoomlion technology department who walked Martin and I through the assembly line. The facilities that Zoomlion Company have are state of the art. This included plasma cutting machines, line boring and high tensile steel argon welding. This is only the start of it all as Zoomlion Company as a whole seems to be improving on a daily basis. Martin and I had the opportunity to spend some time operating the smallest of the QUY series, on which we did our practical part of the training. The QUY 50 and 70 crawlers are very versatile and are well balanced cranes all round. Although ANE Equipment have not brought any of these small crawlers into South Africa, Zoomlion informed Martin and I that they have been selling a large amount of these cranes to other parts of the word. Even though these crawlers are very small, I do think South African companies will find use for them in the near future.

In conclusion I’d like to say that the Chinese are very friendly and hospitable people, and they have a keen interest in the rest of the world. I was fortunate enough for ANE Equipment to afford me the opportunity to see Changsha China and Zoomlion first hand, and the entire experience was wonderful.

IHC Merwede/IHC Hydrohammer Appoints ANE As SA Agent

ZOOMLION MOBILE CRANES

Zoomlion have introduced a new QY60V (60 ton) model in the “V” Series range, as previously the cranes were either a 50 ton or the next size up was a 70 ton. The cranes have gone into production from October and availability of cranes will be January 2010.

ZOOMLION CRAWLER CRANE

Zoomlion Crawler cranes launched the production of the first 1000 ton crawler crane. This crawler crane is the largest build by Zoomlion who had a range of up to 600 ton previously. The first 1000 ton crawler crane has been sold to India for the construction of a power station. The launch was held on the 28th September, and was held at the new crawler crane factory. at Changsha. Zoomlion has delivered six 600 ton crawler cranes to the export market this year.
